Recently I was introduced to Pocket Letter Pals by a friend of mine. Basically it’s a fun way to send someone a letter. You get one of those plastic sheets that hold trading cards, and each little pocket is decorated, and there’s a little treat inside. There is a great group on Facebook that helps you find trading partners and/or get inspiration for your own creations.
The first one I attempted was at a monthly crafty night I’m part of. I chose to do a nature theme and use a much neglected paper pad I had in my stash.
This letter is on it’s way to a gal in North Carolina. It included lots of fun treats: A wooden moose tag, wooden embellies, a “Five things about me” note, 3 little stamped images of birds for her to colour and use on her own creations, washi tape, metal charms. ribbon. my favourite Tazo Tea, and some cute post-it notes.
The second letter I did was a tea theme:
This one is on it’s way to New Jersey. I included: “Five things about me”, washi tape, a Tazo Zen tea with a cute gold bobbypin, gold tea charms, a Twinnings Ginger Lemon tea, butterfly post-its, 2 pockets contain 6 monthly calendars each with birthstones, and the last one contains tea images for her to colour in and use on projects.
I am eagerly awaiting replies in the mail, and I’ll make sure to post them when they arrive.
Have you made a pocket letter yet? I’d love to see your projects! Please post links to your creations in the comments section!
This is so cute! I wasn’t sure what this was all about….thank you for the explanation. It’s taking me back to my pen pal days! Awesome!
