Dec 2015 Pocket Letter Creations

Hello lovelies!  I hope you all had a wonderful winter break, and a fabulous 2016 so far!

I wanted to share 2 Pocket Letters I made and sent out in December 2015.  Both were creating using the Crystal Frost paper pad by Craft Smith, which I purchased at Michael’s.

I love this collection so much! I pulled out my Photo Sleeve Fuse Tool and made the confetti pockets on each one.  I also used my Distress Tim Holtz Minis Inks and Mini Ink Blending Tool-1″ Round, Ranger Stickles, a Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, and lots of other little goodies I had in my stash.  I forgot how much I enjoy making these!

My plan is to do a purge/reorganization of my craft room and then I can freely start creating again!  In the meantime I plan to post some layouts I did at a crop back in October.

Looking forward to getting crafty with you this year!

Alice in Wonderland and Downton Abbey Pocket Letters!

How is everyone doing today? It was a busy weekend around here.  I was polishing up my application for the Etsy:Made In Canada craft fair, which was due yesterday.  Thank goodness I did a bulk of the work a few weeks ago!  But I didn’t actually submit until Saturday evening because I just kept making listings and tweaking the ones that were already up.  I really hope I get accepted, it would be a great way to promote and kick off to this little business of mine 🙂

On top of that, we had my parents and BFF over for Father’s Day dinner.  As requested I made my Dad his favourite: Cabbage Rolls.  Cabbage rolls are lucky they taste so good, because they are a PAIN to make lol

Anywho…

I just wanted to pop on quickly and share 2 videos of Pocket Letters I made recently.  One is for a gal in TN, who requested an Alice in Wonderland theme; the second, for my friend Debbie, and I chose to make hers a Downton Abbey theme.

I decided to start doing videos for my Pocket Letters, because sometimes pictures just don’t do them justice.  Unfortunately my setup is awful, and I’m not very good at it yet, so please bare with me as I start my video making journey 😉

I would love to know what you think of my creations!  I love getting feedback, and getting new ideas from my crafty followers!

Thanks so much for checking this out!

A Harry Potter Pocket Letter

Good Evening everyone!

I recently did a swap with a gal from South Carolina for a Harry Potter themed Pocket Letter.  As soon as I receive her letter, I will make a post about it, but in the meantime I will share what I created for her.IMG_3556

I tried my hand at making some fancy paperclips on this one, and I think they turned out really well!  I printed them off with my laser printer, cut them out, and then glued them to some clips I got at Walmart.

I also included some of my favourite quotes:

and made a tiny, fold-able Maurader’s Map!

OH!  And a tiny notebook with my swap partner’s name on it (I blurred it out for these pics, for her privacy)

On the Slytherin panel I included a tiny map of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter 🙂

IMG_3563I loved including all the House colours in this, with matching gems too:

Here is the back.  I made a Flying Key, included some of my favourite tea, some star-themed sticky notes, some embellies (I made a small Hogwart’s Express ticket, and a few charms including a Deathly Hallows charm!), my contact info, a bunch of small HP images for her to colour and use on a future project, some washi tape, the small notebook, and a small letter rolled up and tied with gold string.

I really enjoyed making this letter, I had so many different ideas, but could only fit so many in one letter, so I’m sure I will have to make some more Harry Potter themed letters in the future!

Let me know what you think!  Have you made a Harry Potter letter?  I’d love to see pics!

Pocket Letters

Recently I was introduced to Pocket Letter Pals by a friend of mine.  Basically it’s a fun way to send someone a letter.  You get one of those plastic sheets that hold trading cards, and each little pocket is decorated, and there’s a little treat inside. There is a great group on Facebook that helps you find trading partners and/or get inspiration for your own creations.

The first one I attempted was at a monthly crafty night I’m part of.  I chose to do a nature theme and use a much neglected paper pad I had in my stash.

This letter is on it’s way to a gal in North Carolina.  It included lots of fun treats:  A wooden moose tag, wooden embellies, a “Five things about me” note, 3 little stamped images of birds for her to colour and use on her own creations, washi tape, metal charms. ribbon. my favourite Tazo Tea, and some cute post-it notes.

The second letter I did was a tea theme:

This one is on it’s way to New Jersey.  I included: “Five things about me”, washi tape, a Tazo Zen tea with a cute gold bobbypin, gold tea charms, a Twinnings Ginger Lemon tea, butterfly post-its, 2 pockets contain 6 monthly calendars each with birthstones, and the last one contains tea images for her to colour in and use on projects.

I am eagerly awaiting replies in the mail, and I’ll make sure to post them when they arrive.

Have you made a pocket letter yet?  I’d love to see your projects!  Please post links to your creations in the comments section!
